A SpeedNut™ made in the U.S.A. is guaranteed to be the strongest and most durable on the market. It has to be, because it is a well-known fact that no country is as rough on tools and equipment as in the North American market.
North America has the largest and heaviest wheels, which require the SpeedNut to be tightened harder and with more torque, to avoid the wheel from rotating when the wheel balancer starts and stops. This huge amount of torque takes a serious toll on the threaded jaws and the release lever.
The threaded jaws must be hard enough not to wear out quickly, yet not so hard that it prematurely wears the balancer’s threaded shaft. It is easier and more cost effective to replace a set of threaded SpeedNut jaws than to replace the balancer’s threaded shaft.
Other companies don’t harden the release lever, so it doesn’t take long before their quicknut can’t be tightened down anymore, but rather clicks over like a bad lid on a jar that won’t seal. Some companies don’t even harden the threaded jaws, apparently expecting another quick sale, when the threaded jaws wear prematurely.
● Hardened threaded jaws.
● Hardened ergonomic release lever.
The SpeedNut is available with or without turning handles and can be purchased by itself or with a Pressure Cup.
